Pink Floyd

Sam had a significant impact during her time touring and creating music with Pink Floyd and its iconic guitarist, David Gilmour. Brown's journey with the band began in the mid-1980s, when she was invited to provide backing vocals for Pink Floyd's monumental album A Momentary Lapse of Reason (1987). This marked the start of her long collaboration with both the band and Gilmour.

As part of Pink Floyd's live performances during their 1987–1989 A Momentary Lapse of Reason tour, Brown became an integral part of the band's live sound. Her powerful, soulful vocals added depth and emotion to the band's expansive and atmospheric music. She stood alongside other notable backing vocalists, including Clare Torry (famous for her contribution to "The Great Gig in the Sky"), creating a rich vocal texture that enhanced the band's dramatic soundscapes.

Beyond the touring experience, Brown also worked closely with David Gilmour during the recording of his solo projects. She contributed to Gilmour’s 1984 album About Face, which included backing vocals and a distinctive presence on tracks like “Love on the Air.” The chemistry between Brown and Gilmour was a key factor in the success of the projects they worked on together, with Brown's expressive voice complementing Gilmour's emotive guitar work.
